Joshua Lessing

Dr.Lessing is the Director of Research and Development at Soft Robotics Inc., a Boston-based startup company, developing revolutionary robotic grippers for use in automated industrial systems. At SRI, he is responsible for the design and development of a fundamentally new class of chemically inspired robotic actuators that form the basis for the companies gripper technology. Dr.Lessing holds a Sc.B. in Chemistry from Brown University, a Ph.D.in Physical Chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, was a postdoctoral fellow in the laboratory of Prof. George M. Whitesides at Harvard University and the first member of the SRI team.
